In a move to retain the strength of its administrative pyramid, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) is soon going to have two more deputy municipal commissioners. The process for locating suitable candidates for the posts has been set in motion.

It has been decided to fill the two second-rung posts through direct recruitment from the open market. But this has apparently led to resentment among some senior civic officials who think they are eligible for the post through promotions. The heads of departments in several AMC branches, who were waiting for their turn to vie for the higher post, are disappointed with the announcement of appointments through general competition.

Ahmedabad Civil Hospital starts procedure for Phase III registration

While the Ahmedabad Civil Hospital started the procedures for registering with the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Laboratories (NABH/NABL) under Phase III a fortnight back, seven other hospitals in the state have reached the pre-assessment stage (Phase I).

Gujarat Informatics Limited accuses present developers of breach in agreements, all set to terminate master lease

The Gujarat Informatics Limited (GIL) has issued notices to the Creative Infocity Limited (CIL) – the developers of the Infocity complex near Gandhinagar – for termination of master lease and concession agreements inked in 2001 and 2000 respectively.
