Hyderabad based Solar Semiconductor, a manufacturer of photovoltaic power generation units, has entered into a supply contract worth Rs 3,000 crore with AS Solar, a German firm.

The contract value is $695 million and it will be executed over the next three years.

A two-judge bench of the Gujarat High Court on Wednesday ordered a stay on all construction activities in the creek area of the Rs 7,400-crore Adani multi-product Special Economic Zone in Mundra taluka of Kutch district, with immediate effect.

The next hearing in the case is on August 7. The order was passed by the bench of acting Chief Justice M S Shah and Justice D H Waghela on a Public Interest Litigation filed by the fishermen of Kutch.

Praful Vaghela and Shantilal Vaghela, fathers of the two boys who died under mysterious circumstances after they went missing from the Asaram Ashram gurukul, have found support in far-off places like Bhetasi village in Anand district.

Jayanti Solanki from Bhetasi turned up to take part in a silent rally organised to demand justice for the Vaghelas on Wednesday, even as the police claim that the deaths are accidental. Solanki was not the only supporter at the rally, though. Thousands of people from the Ahmedabad city and the neighbouring districts attended the rally in support of the Vaghelas.
