It looks like hotels in the city, who have hired DJs from Mumbai and Delhi, will claim the top slot for new year bashes. Party animals who anticipated a comback for new year parties in farmhouses on city outskirts this year may be disappointed yet again, with the police putting a damper on such dos.
However, some farmhouses and party plots in Sindhrot and Waghodia Road will host commercial parties on December 31 as they had taken prior permission from the police. Most people, however, fearing police crackdown, have decided to host parties restricted to their own friends’ circle.
The Taj group has announced three parties at the Taj Residency in Akota. Spinning music through the night will be DJ Jessie from Delhi. A lavish dinner buffet will be arranged at the coffee shop for those who prefer a more sedate affair, while a live band, Tattva, will enthrall the audience at the Upper Deck. However, the party does come at a price of Rs 1,500 per couple, plus Rs 550 per person for dinner.
Another hotspot might turn out to be Hotel Surya Palace with its dinner-cum-dance party, ‘Nirvana’, with DJ Kiran from Mumbai. However, people will have to shell out Rs 2,000 per couple. The 2004 winner of the ‘War of the DJs’ in Vadodara, DJ Indrajeet will play at Picasso on Old Padra Road. The event promises a night of hip hop, trance and house with no Himesh.
