Successful end consumer offer on Inkjet Printer extended by Epson India


Epson India has announced that it is extending its hugely popular “Scratch n Snatch” offer, which was launched in February this year to drive the sales of its entry-level Inkjet model Stylus C45. As a result of an overwhelming response, this scheme, which was initially only till 31st March has now been extended till 31st September, 2006.

Under this scheme any end consumer who buys this model will get a scratch card within the carton box. The scratch card will reveal the gift that the consumer has won. The gifts options include a gold coin, black ink cartridge worth Rs. 490/-, Epson print media, Philips headphone and many more exciting prizes. The customer is expected to return the scratch card to Epson with his details duly filled in to avail the gift. The customer will also get free extended 2nd year warranty for doing so.

The EPSON Stylus C45 inkjet printer promises to “Make Printing Fun”. An affordable, all-purpose four-colour inkjet printer it delivers razor-sharp text documents and hassle-free, picture-perfect photos for the entire family. What’s more it comes equipped with a number of unique “fun features” including:
• Mobile Phone Print Mode for enhancing mobile phone pictures.
• Web-to-Page for auto resizing web pages for printing.
• Print Image Framer for decorating photographs with frames, printing in an album format or even printing a photo calendar.
• Black Ink Save Mode for emergency printing.

Modern India Ltd. announces Audited Financial Results for Year March 31,06


Modern India Ltd., formerly known as Modern Mills Ltd., today announced its audited annual results for the year ended March 31, 2006. The company has shown substantial growth in terms of revenue of profits due to the phenomenal performance of all its business segments.

In synergy with the projections, the company has reported an increase in net profit after tax of Rs 2.92 cr against a loss of Rs. 1.61 cr in the last year. Consolidated Turnover for the financial year is Rs 80.92 cr, an increase of 360.5% compared to Rs. 22.44 cr in the last year. Consolidated Operating Profit (PBDIT) of Rs 5.73 cr as compared to Rs 1.78 cr. EPS for the year is Rs 2.93 per share.

Commenting on the upward trend in the financial performance, Mr. Vijay Kumar Jatia, Chairman nd Managing Director, Modern India Ltd. said, “We took a strategic decision to diversify into five major business segments, and followed this vision with a passion and dedication. All the businesses have been a stupendous success. It has been a very good year with a major turnaround for us. The Nuance Group & Shopper’s Stop-the Duty Free retail market at Airports


The Nuance Group is teaming up with one of India’s leading retailers Shopper’s Stop Ltd. (part of the K. Raheja Corp. – Chandru. L. Raheja Group) in a joint venture designed to enter the Indian airport retail market. The JV Company will be equally owned by both partners and plans to offer a comprehensive range of services, from operating master concessions to distribution for international brands.

The MoU was signed by the companies’ representatives in Hyderabad today. India is currently one of the most promising markets as far as development in airports and its marketing is concerned. This process is further accelerated by the upcoming privatization of several major airports across the country as well as by the fast expansion of various airline companies in the country. The Nuance Group has defined India as one of its key strategic expansion areas.

Shopper’s Stop Ltd., has built up a strong competence in department stores and operates 20 Shoppers’ Stop stores all over India, which carry a mix of both national and international brands. The company has been paramount in bringing to India some of the best names in fashion and cosmetics. Shopper’s Stop Ltd. (a part of K. Raheja Corp. - C.L. Raheja Group) group company has a 100% subsidiary Crossword, which sells books, music CDs, stationary, newsprint, toys and games at 33 locations. K.Raheja Corp- .- C.L. Teaming up in a 50/50 joint venture, the two companies offer a perfect combination in expertise of international airport retailing and retailing to the Indian customer. The objective of the joint venture is to offer a wide range of services for Indian airport retail both on the duty free side and the domestic side as per applicable regulations, from the operation of master concessions, duty-free, and food & beverage concessions to the franchise of concepts developed by Nuance or third parties as well as distribution of international brands of wine and liquor to hotels and other wholesalers as may be permitted by Foreign Direct Investment Regulations.
