Prime Minister Manmohan Singh met US President George Bush on Wednesday, on the sidelines of the G8 summit, to discuss the last lap of the Indo-US Nuclear deal.

Both leaders reiterated their stand on the deal saying it was important for both the countries. Manmohan Singh even told reporters after the meeting that ties with Washington have never been better.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni took the rare step of declaring himself unavailable for India’s tour of Sri Lanka where they will play three Test matches starting later this month.

He will however, be available for the five-match one-day international series that immediately follow the Tests.

Clash triggered after Kolis attack Bharwad settlements; 6 cops suffer injuries
