Jehangir Nicholson Gallery of Modern Art (NCPA), showcasing 40 masterpiece paintings of Pratiksha Apurv, niece & disciple of great visionary OSHO.
Mrs. Nita Mukesh Ambani inaugurated the exhibition. Pratiksha has been blessed with creativity and has carved a niche for herself in different artistic endeavors, including being a highly successful fashion designer who chose to shun publicity and quietly went about doing what she does best - artistic design. Her precise touch of brush and different observation of tone and color create a mystery in her work. Even the abstract has a figure and figurative strokes that find their way towards eternity.
In her past solo exhibition in AIFACS Delhi on 1st Feb. 2007, Pratiksha won many rave reviews from art connoisseurs and art critics. Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajapayee was engrossed to see her work. “Pratiksha’s paintings compel one to think and offer a different vision,” said Vajpayee while inaugurating exhibition. Vajpayee congratulated Pratiksha for painting Spiritual Journey of meditator on the canvas.
“Pratiksha, I would like to bow to you (Mai Tumhe Pranam Karna Chahta hu). I was not aware of your talent and did not know of the quantum of work that you have created. Your creations are thought provoking. Please continue your search (Sadhna).” He added.
She has tried to define the journey of human existence and its ultimate goal through her paintings, where lines do not merely limit a facade but touch the shape and model it by their very direction and comparative energy, which need no analysis of life. Pratiksha says, “ Each of her painting is an effort to express the inexpressible and to offer a glimpse of ‘what is’ to any potential seeker regardless of their conforming to any stream of religion or path.”
