The Hindustan Computers Limited (HCL) Technologies showcased its latest offering of two ultramodern notebooks, the MiLeap X and Y series in New Delhi.
The name of the launched series comes from a combination of personalized attention given to an individual and the coincidence of it being launched in a ‘leap year” which denotes its uniqueness and once-in-a-life time offer.
The highlights of these two laptops are its price tag. The X series laptop stands at an all time low tag of Rs 13,990 and the Y series laptops at Rs 29,990.
Both the products comes in a shrunken form with 7-inch screen and weighing less than a kilogram. It is almost the size of a normal executive diary, equipped with an Intel processor.
The series which uses Linux as the operating system have superior quality look like, outer casing around the device for protection, rounded edges to ensure safety, and most of all it is simple and user friendly with multiple navigation options like voice, touch, stylos and thumboard.
This is a breakthrough in a step towards PC penetration by HCL technologies, and was confirmed by the words of Ajay Chowdhry, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, HCL who said, “I would like to see a laptop in every Indian’s hand.”
When asked about who is going to endorse the products, he said, "Its you (the customers)."
