The City Detection of Crime Branch (DCB) on Wednesday released four sketches of three suspects of the recent serial bomb blasts in Ahmedabad, which killed over 50 people and injured around 200 others.
The sketches have been prepared by the experts based on the eyewitness accounts of the blasts in three areas— Raipur Chakla, Hatkeshwar Circle and Narol Circle.
According to DCB officials, the suspect in the Raipur Chakla blasts in Khadia area had bought a second-hand bicycle from a shop in the Sarangpur area by giving a false name, Faizan Ansari. “The accused went to the shop on July 23 and paid Rs 500 in advance for the bicycle and ordered to get that repaired. On July 24, he paid another Rs 200 and took the bicycle,” said a DCB officer.
The accused, aged 21, was speaking in Hindi. He was nearly 5 feet 8 inches tall and was wearing a light coloured shirt and trousers, said the police. The police have now prepared two sketches of him.
The suspect in the blast at the Narol Circle behind the Hanuman Temple has been described as a person in the age group of 45-50 years, of strong structure, bald, 5’5” in height. He is said to be wearing a lungi, white shirt and a pair of rubber slippers.
Eyewitnesses said that in the Hatkeshwar Circle area, one person aged around 30 years had parked a bicycle near a vegetable lorry in the evening at 6.15. He even had an altercation with the vegetable vendor after parking the bicycle. This suspect has been described as 5’7” tall, of strong structure, dark in complexion with curly hair and a moustache. He was wearing a yellow shirt and grey trousers.
Joint Commissioner of Police H P Singh said the procedure is on to make sketches of other blast suspects.
