Train services between Vadodara and Surat were affected due to incessant rains in the region on Wednesday.
According to a Western Railway release, five trains were affected due to rains in the Vadodara division. Rail traffic between Vadodara and Bharuch section remained troubled as water level crossed the danger mark at two places. On bridge number 561, down line was suspended at 4.50 am and up line at 7.40 am between Kashipura and Itola (about 23 km from Vadodara).
On bridge no 571, water level crossed the danger mark and traffic was suspended on both up and down lines at 7.10 am.
Cancellations, regulations and diversions of trains are as follows: train number 9024 Firozpur-Mumbai, scheduled to arrive at Mumbai on Wednesday, was terminated at Vadodara and returned as 9023 down from Vadodara on Wednesday. Train number 9024 up was cancelled between Vadodara and Surat.
Train number 9023 down Mumbai-Firozpur, which left Mumbai on Wednesday, was terminated at Surat and reversed as 9024 up from Surat to Mumbai on Wednesday. Train number 9023 down was cancelled between Surat and Vadodara.
Train number 9216 up Porbandar-Mumbai, scheduled to arrive at Mumbai on Wednesday, was terminated at Anand and reversed as 9215 down from Anand. Train number 9216 up was cancelled between Anand and Surat.
Train number 9215 down Mumbai-Porbandar, which left Mumbai on Wednesday, was terminated at Surat and reversed as 9216 up from Surat to Mumbai the same day. Train number 9215 down was cancelled between Surat and Anand.
Train number 2479 up Jodhpur-Bandra, scheduled to arrive at Bandra on Wednesday, was terminated at Vadodara and reversed as 2480 down the same day from Vadodara.
Besides, train numbers 2479/2480 Jodhpur-Bandra-Jodhpur were cancelled between Vadodara and Bandra in both directions on Wednesday, the release stated.
