Police in Ahmedabad claimed to have cracked the sensational murder of the of software engineer Kunal Pancholi and arrested two people in connection with the case.
Twenty-five-year-old Pancholi – who was missing since August 19 – was killed by his girlfriend, Megha, and her male friend, Jigar, because he (Pancholi) disapproved of their liaison, police said.
His body was recovered bearing over 20 stab injuries near Gandhinagar, two days later. Megha and Jigar had allegedly made the death appear to be a case of armed robbery.
Pancholi's parents too insisted that Megha, who was Kunal's childhood friend along with her boyfriend Jigar, killed their son.
Police claim to have cracked the case based on tracking the phone records of the accused and the deceased. Police also claim that Megha and Jigar have confessed to the crime.
