Senior police officers investigating the September 29 blast in Modasa are calling the investigation ‘very much open’ in the absence of any crucial leads in the case. One person was killed and 10 others were injured in the explosion that occurred outside a mosque in Suka Bazaar area of the town last Monday night.
But even four days after the blast in the small town of Sabarkantha district, senior police officers say they do not have any clues to pursue the case.
Sabarkantha Superintendent of Police R B Brahmbhatt told Newsline: “We do not have any concrete clues in the case. We are looking for some eyewitnesses who could have seen the person(s) who might have parked the bike at the blast site. But so far, no one has come forward. Apart from that, we are yet to establish the identity of the bike, which was used in the blast. It has been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory in Gandhinagar for the same,” he said.
A senior police officer said some of the locals suspected to have been involved in the case are being interrogated, but so far, nothing has emerged.
