For the first time, Gujarat Technological University (GTU) has launched an online common entrance test for students seeking admission to the MBA and MCA courses in colleges across the state.
Director (Technical education), Manish Bhardwaj, said here on Thursday that of the 23,000 students seeking admission to the MBA and MCA courses, about 12,000 have already taken the online common entrance test in the last two days at 23 centres set up across the state. The remaining 11,000 students will take the computer-based test in the next two days.
Bhardwaj said as many as 8,000 seats are available for the MBA and MCA courses in the state. The GTU authorities started issuing exam hall tickets to the candidates online from June 28. The students were required to take a print of the hall ticket and produce it at the test center.
The online test includes questions on English language skills, quantitative aptitude, analytical reasoning and general knowledge topics and it is based on the format followed for CAT, MAT, GMAT and GRE exams. The two-hour test contains 150 multiple-choice questions. The examinees get four marks for each correct answer and lose one mark for one wrong answer, said Bhardwaj.
