With Microsoft announcing its plans to invest $1.7 billion in India, IT companies are upbeat about the prospects of the information technology segment getting a further boost in the country. This is not the first time Microsoft is investing in India, but this time around, the investment figure is very large.
Microsoft chairman and chief software architect Bill Gates announcement in New Delhi on Wednesday, follows those made by Intel Corporation, the world’s largest semiconductor chipmaker, which said it would be investing over $1 billion, and Cisco Systems’ proposal to invest $1.1 billion.
