‘Hardsell business potential
in Canada’
Gujarat
should think of promoting themselves in Canada for business investments,
said Ms Ingrid Hall, the director general of the department of foreign
affairs and international trade, Canada on Monday.
She was speaking at a meeting
with the members of the Gujarat chapter of Confederation of Indian Industry.
Ms Hall said that business
should be left to business only and government intervention should be
only that of a facilitator. She said that Gujaratis should learn to promote
and projects themselves in Canada.
Mr Naishad Parikh, the past
chairman of CII, Gujarat in this presentation sought support of Canada
in areas of mutual interests like telecommunication, agro and food processing,
water management, power, textiles, drugs and pharmaceuticals and automobiles.
Mr Robert Andrigo, the newly
appointed deputy high commissioner, Canada and director CII Sunil Parekh
were also preseat on the occasion.
