Net comes for Rs.15 at MS University
Students
of MS University can now surf the Internet for a charge as low as Rs.20
for an hour during the day and Rs.15 per hour during the evening. The
venue? The university’s own cybercafe, to be inaugurated on Wednesday
at its computer centre.
Rumi Mistry, officer on special
duty (planning), said donations from abroad, especially from alumunis
of MSU settled in California, made the cybercafe a reality. At present
they have 15 nodes on leased line.
The proposal for a cybercafe
was raised during the time of former vice-chancellor Padma Ramchandran,
but funds were a problem. A discussion with alumnus of the university
settled in California, however, made the cybercafe a reality for the students
and professors.
The main donors for this
Cybercafé at MS University are Amit Shah and Ajay Shah and their
wives.
