Competition at NIT

Nirma Institute of Technology organised a State-level engineering institute paper presentation competition of Electronic Communication, Instrumentation and Control in association with Gujarat Council of Science and Technology and Education Department of Gujarat.

The inaugural function was chaired by Jainarayan Vyas, minister for Narmada and major irrigation schemes, government of Gujarat. Professor J.V. Dave, advisor GUJCOST, expressed that the objective of the programme was to make the students more research and development oriented. He also said this paper presentation programme would help students come up at the national and international levels.

Vyas said the present generation of students are fortunate to have such vast exposure. Ambu Patel managing trustee, Nirma Education and Research Foundation, said such programmes will help understand the impact of technology better.

In Electronics and Communication Engineering, out of the total 64 synopsis received, 23 were selected for presentation. The major topics included digital video broadcasting, virtual reality and wide area networks. In Instumentation, major topics of presentation were robots in space, ECG tele-transmission, fuzzy controllers, etc. Nirma Institute bagged the first and third prizes and LD College of Engineering the second.
