to announce the Harmony show-2000
Tina
was in Ahmedabad city to announce the Harmony Show-2000, which is hyped
as the country’s most comprehensive art exhibition. Conceived and initiated
by Tina, the Harmony Show this year will have 138 artists from various
parts of the country exhibiting 270 artefacts at the show to be held in
Mumbai.
As many as 35 painters and
sculptors from Gujarat will participate in the annual event organised
by the textiles division of Reliance Industries. Of the 35, most of the
artists hail from Baroda, which is thriving centre of fine arts in the
state.
The Harmony Show-2000, on
the theme of "Art and Fashion," will be inaugurated by Jaya and Amitabh
Bachchan at the Nehru Centre. For the first time, a pavilion of "wearable
art" featuring works of India a leading designers like Wendell Roderigues,
Lascelles Symons, Shaina NC, Brinda Chudasama Miller and Raisa Hussain
will be on exhibition.
As the Harmony show enters
the fifth year, Ms Ambani feels that while the main aim of the show is
to promote art, the promotion of the brand was equally important.
This year, the show is expected
to attract over 35,000 visitors and for the first time the show will be
put upon the Internet.
Tina got inspired to conceive
such a show to spread more awareness and do something that concerns a
bigger group of people and make art accessible to the lay person.
Over the years, the Harmony
Show has been attracting young upcoming arts from different corners of
the country.
