Dr.
Abdul Kalam to inaugurate Ramanbhai Patel-AMA centre
Eminent scientist Dr. Abdul Kalam Azad will inaugurate the Ramanbhai Patel-AMA
Centre for Excellence in Education on Friday at 6.30 am.
The centre will be a platform
for programmes like Diploma for Teachers in Progressive Learning, Ramanbhai
B. Patel Memorial Lecture and Ramanbhai B. Patel-AMA Shresth Shikshak
Award for Excellence in Teaching.
The diploma for teachers
programme will be open to teachers of primary and secondary teachers and
will provide them with an opportunity to learn new skills, experiment
with new teaching aids and to take a new approach towards education. Commemorating
the birth anniversary of Patel, the Centre will organise a memorial lecture
on August 19 every year, while on the same day, a teacher from the State
would be honoured with the Shresth Shikshak Award. The centre will also
act as a catalyst for generating new ideas and thoughts that aid this
quest. A week long open house programme every year on Excellence in Education,
'Zydus School for Excellence-AMA open House Programe on Excellence in
Education' would be organised.
As part of its ongoing
activities, the Cenre will also undertake study and research in the field
of education.
