Week-long book fair by Gujarat Sahitya Parishad
The Gujarati Sahitya Parishad will hold a week-long book fair from Sunday in association with Meghani Gyanpith. The fair will have 50,000 books on display brought out by around 25 publishers and distributors.

Renowned poet Professor Niranjan Bhagat will inaugurate the fair on Saturday evening at the parishad premises off Ashram Road. Writers Gunwant Shah and Jayant Pandya will be conferred Sachchidanand award on the occasion. The fair will be open to public from Sunday till February 16 between 2 pm and 9 pm. Various programmes including story-telling competition for kids will be held between 6 and 7 pm during the fair.

There will be a poets meet on Monday which will be attended by Chinu Modi, Vinod Joshi, Rajendra Joshi and Dalpat Padhiyar among others. A symposium on books will be held on Tuesday and it will be attended by Tushar Bhatt, Kirit Dudhat, Sanjay Bhave, Amrat Khatri and Bipin Patel.

In another symposium on books, discussions will take place with Bakul Tripathi, Prakash Shah, S D Desai and Himanshi Shelat while a musical evening will be organised on Friday. An interactive session will be held on the concluding day on Saturday by Chandrakant Topiwala, Vinesh Antani and Saumya Joshi.
