When it rains, it overflows
Incessant rains lashed Banskantha, Baroda districts and the Ahmedabad city in the last 24 hours. Out of 225 talukas in the state, 169 received heavy to moderate rainfall.

Water logging was reported in various areas of Ahmedabad city like Satellite road, Odhav, Danilimbda, Naroda, Jamalpur, Shahpur, Kalupur, Naranpura, Navrangpura, Akhbarnagar underbridge and Nava Vadaj area of Ahmedabad city. Water logging was also reported from Auda areas like Vastrapur, Bodakdev Vejalpur, Ghatlodia and areas outside city limits like Bopal also. The AMC control room recorded the rain to be around 2.5 inches (66.2 mm) till 6 pm.

In the state, the drought-prone North Gujarat region and districts in South Gujarat also had good rains. According to the emergency response centre of the revenue department at Gandhinagar, different talukas of Banaskantha district received the highest 2.5 to 5 inches of rainfall. Dhanera in Banaskantha district registered maximum rainfall of 132 mm.

Gandhinagar, Mehsana, Patan, Sabarkantha districts received good rainfall while many talukas of Baroda district received almost five inch of rainfall.

Different talukas of Banaskatha districts, which received rainfall, are Danta 55mm, Deesa 105mm, Dhanera 132mm, Palanpur 65mm, Vadgam 106mm, Amirgadh 70mm, Dantivad 64mm, Diyodar 123mm, Bhabar 84mm, Kankrej 82mm, Tharad 66mmand Vav 102mm.

Mandal in Ahmedabad district received 56mm and Detroj 34mm. Umreth in Anand district 20mm, and Aanklav 40mm. Amod in Bharuch district recorded 74mm. Jambusar 104mm. Dehgam in Gandhinagar district received 24mm, Gandhinagar 33mm, Mansa 18mm, and Kalol 25mm.

Balasinor in Kheda district received 29mm, Kathlal 23mm, Mahudha 20mm, and Thasra 29mm. Gandhidham in Kutch district received 12mm, Mundra 12mm, Nakhatrana 16mm and rapar 11mm.

Meanwhile seven water-reservoirs of the state are filled up to brim .

According to reports from Flood control cell of Narmada, Water resources and water supply department, 1,25702.44 million cubic feet of water has been stored till July 11 in 14 water-reservoirs of North Gujarat, 16 in Central Gujarat, 13 in South Gujarat, 20 in Kachchh and 121 in Saurashtra.

The water level in of the major water reservoirs of the state has gone up including 165.38 meter in Dantiwada, 171.65 meter in Sipu, 105 meter in Karjan, 135.6 meter in Dholi, 64.47 meter in Vanakbori, 174.14 meter in Dharoi, 114.9 meter in Panam, 164.05 meter in Hadaf, 114.83 meter in Kadana, 113.30 meter in Bhadar, 124.55 meter in Vatrak, 150.35 meter in Mazam, 169.62 meter in Hathmati, 203.13 meter in Meshwo, 93.85 meter in Ukai and 66.45 meter in Damaganga.
