MCA students get back fees
Total 42 MCA students of Ahmedabad Education Society on Tuesday received their first installment of the fees by the Gujarat University which they were overcharged from the institute in the academic year 2000-01.

Students in the payment category received Rs 7,500 each and those in the free seats category received Rs 6,000 each. The second installment of Rs 15,000 each will be refunded to the students in September. The MBA and MCA students of other institutes are expected to receive their excess fees by this week

"The move to refund the excess fees to the student is a step in the right direction. But a few institutes which have not refunded the fees to the university so far will face the ire of the students" said Manish Doshi, General secretary of Gujarat Pradesh Youth Congress.

Vice chancellor A U Patel said, "The refund of the excess fees has redeemed the faith of the students in the system of administration of Gujarat University."
