| MLM case: Water City owner detained for involvement
The
economic offences wing of the state CID (Crime) on Tuesday reportedly
detained the owner of the Water City Daxesh Shah for his involvement in
the multi level marketing scam run by Zahir Rana of Remo marketing private
limited.
Though
there was no official confirmation by the officials investigating the
MLM scam, reliable police sources informed that Water City owner Daxesh
Shah was detained under IPC section 102. "He was detained for questioning
in connection with his involvement in the MLM scam. He has been taken
to some undisclosed place for interrogation," said a source. Daxesh
Shah holds the post of Bharatiya Janata Party youth wing president at
Kheda. Shah who is also the owner of the Sneh Resort private limited struck
a deal with Remo marketing managing director Zahir Rana for about Rs 4
crores due to financial crisis. Rana reportedly paid Rs 2 crores as part
of the deal.
It
may be recalled that Rana’s lawyer Hashim Qureshi had alleged that
Daxesh Shah is also running the MLM business but his political connections
is preventing the police in taking action against him.
