Six held for sex racket in Chandlodia
A
prostitution racket run under the cover of a Naari Utkarsh Kendra, a non-government
organisation, was busted in city late on Monday night and six persons
were arrested by the police.
The main accused, Amrit Patel,53,
who ran the Naari Utkarsh Kendra from his residence at Chandlodia was
an employee of Geetanjali hotel near Dhanasutar Pol in Kalupur and had
bought a flat in Chandlodia after resigning his job.
The police sent a decoy customer
with money to the flat and he was asked to communicate through a code
signal. Three customers and two call girls were rounded up late at night.
Police recovered obscene literature and video cassettes of blue films.
The accused have been booked under Immoral Traffic Prevention Act section
3, 4, 5 and Indian Penal Code section 292. Meanwhile, Amrit Patel has
moved a bail application in the city rural court before magistrate R.D.
Jani. The court will decide on the bail on Wednesday.
