Bangalore investors convinced of state’s potential, says Modi November 10, 2003 |

Chief minister Narendra Modi claimed here that the response of corporate heads of IT firms had been highly encouraging and that several IT and IT enabled services companies based in Bangalore are willing to set up new units or participate in new projects in Gujarat.

Mr Modi was addressing a business conference "Gujarat IT Evening In Bangalore" held in Bangalore on Friday.
Mr Modi quoted a Nasscom survey saying that Gujarat provided excellent opportunities in information and communication technology in collaboration with the private sector.
He said Gujarat is a front ranking state in the overall category of IT policy, e-readiness and e-governance.
It has got the capacity to fulfil the demand for human resources needs in collaboration with the private sector.
A comprehensive IT policy is being drafted to involve the maximum participation of the private sector, a state government release said.
The conference was attended by about 50 IT companies from the Silicon Valley of India, Nasscom , Infosys and Intel India.
Chief secretary P.K. Laheri, science and technology secretary Rajesh Kishore also spoke on the occasion.
