The Sarkhej police on Wednesday filed an affidavit before the Gujarat high court after a petition alleged that Congress candidate Vijaya Vasava, who won the Kosambi seat in the Bharuch district panchayat polls, has been held captive by the BJP for political gains in the outskirts of Ahmedabad. |
Challenging the claims of Chhana Vasava, who rushed letters to the DSPs of Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, and the Ahmedabad city police commissioner on Monday alleging that his family was held captive at room number 303 in Silver Oak Resort on SG Highway, the affidavit submitted by Sarkhej police claimed that the room was allotted to one Bharat Patel's family from Junagadh at 11 pm on November 5 and that after it was vacated in the morning of November 6, no one was allotted the room.
While adjourning the hearing till Thursday, Justice Anant Dave also issued notice to the Dahod DySP after a petition on Wednesday claimed that Congress candidate from Jhalod taluka panchayat Kanta Bhabhor has been kidnapped by BJP in wake of president and vice-president polls. DySP Dahod has been asked to file an affidavit on Thursday.
