Modi hits out at US report
November 12, 2005

In a stinging response to the report International Religious Freedom released by the US department that virtually indicts the state government of not protecting rights of religious minoritie

chief minister Narendra Modi said here that America need not reach humanity to the country because the Indian culture is based on the tenet of equality to all religions. In his address at the inaugural function at Kabir Kumbh Mela in Bharuch, he said those who are attempting to preach humanity need to understand that the Indian culture itself speaks the language of humanity. He hit out at the report without mentioning it saying that it was India that demonstrated humanity to the world through the Kabirwani (the preachings of Kabir). It is only the Hindu religion that has the strength to cleanse sins and evils. he added He said his government's development is inspired by strength of its people. Mr. Modi said even the English rule and other foreign attacks on the country have not been able to disintegrate the cultural and traditional values of the country.
