Website for sexual problems
Country's
first website providing free medical advice on sex problems www.impotenceinfocentre.com
was launched here on Tuesday. Dr Paras Shah who conceived the site, justified
the name of the website, "To avoid confusion between pornography and scientific
guidance, this name has been given to the site."
"This site has been launched
yesterday so as to mark the AIDS Week’ which is currently being celebrated,"
he said.
‘Guidance on the problems
would be given within 72 hours free of cost," said Dr Shah, a sexologist
and head of the Sanidhya Institute and Research Centre.
"I don’t blame the quacks
for widespread sexual illiteracy. It is the doctors who should be guiding
their patients to consult sexologists," said Dr Shah.
The site has a number of
‘Frequently Asked Questions’ and their answers.
The site also gives information
about 'Regiscan' which is an instrument that verifies if the cause of
impotency is psychological or organic.
"Throughout India this kind
of instrument is available only with us," said Dr Shah.
The 'Ask me’ section enables
the visitor to ask specific questions. Here they can type in their problems
and leave their e-mail addresses for the doctor to answer.
Dr Shah is also going to
conduct ‘Kam Samvad’ which is a kind of sex education for couples.
A team consisting of a lady
gynaecologist, a sexologist and a general surgeon would guide the couple.
"There would be only 10 coupIes per session which would be held every
first and third Sunday of the month," informed Dr Shah.
