The General Electric Company on Tuesday announced that the country portal for GE and its businesses in India has gone live at www.ge.com/in. This is GE India’s corporate website that provides information on GE and its diverse business in India.

According to a release, GE has developed portals in every country where it has a significant presence as part of its global e-business initiatives.

The objective of setting up www.ge.com/in is to serve as a central resource of information about GE and its initiatives in the country and also providing links to the global website as well as business-specific websites, worldwide and in India.

GE is a diversified services, technology and manufacturing company with a commitment to achieving worldwide leadership in each of its business. The revenues of the company in 1998 were $ 100.5 billion and net earnings were $ 9.3 billion.

in addition to providing information about the GE businesses in India, the GE India Country Portal provides an overview of the company’s operations and vision in India.

It will also provide information about GE’s growth initiatives of six sigma, services, globalisation and E-business in the country. The portal also provides potential recruits with information on GE’s Leadership Development programmes and its applications.
