S K Management to organise seminar

The S.K. Patel Institute of Management and Computer Studies, Gandhinagar is organising IT Vision@2000 between December 20 and 24. The four-day event will comprise topical seminars on IT.

The event is a fest for MBA and MCA aspirants, professionals, students, government employees and several others connected with the IT and management fields. IT companies will put up stalls during the event.

Eminent personalities such as minister of state for information technology Bimal Shah, president of Software Frontiers Phani Tetali, IIM professor R. Ravichandran and director of Jindal Online Amit Agarwal will speak at event.

Director of the institute V.S. Patel said with a strong faculty of 22 professors and a wide range of courses the institute is set to be a leading centre for business administration and information technology studies.

"This is the first institute to offer a dual specialisation course in MBA and IT. We, at the institute, do not just impart educational training but ensure that when the student is through with the course he is ready to meet the challenges of the corporate world," Mr Patel said.

The institute follows the norms and the curriculum of the Gujarat University which itself is alive to the changes in the education field, he said.

"We are not an autonomous body like the IIM and follow the university guidelines," he added.

The institute offers three courses - two-year MBA and MCA courses and a one-year course leading to post graduate diploma in computer application and information technology.

"We are equipped with a library, have around 150 computers with the latest softwares, as many as four computer labs for individual courses and an infrastructure worth Rs 5.5 crores. We are also a member of the Sports Authority of India to give recreational facilities to our students," Mr Patel said.
