Ahmedabad becomes Eleventh City in the country to have Intelligent Network.

Want to increase your business by utilising Intelligent Network (IN) Services? The twin features of IN Services — Virtual Card Calling (VCC) and Free Phone Service (FPH) — facilities were introduced in the city by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) recently.

"Under FPH, aimed at helping the service oriented industries to promote their business, the companies can provide their customers the free phone call facility," Deputy General Manager (Planning) Piyush Verma said. About the VCC, he said subscribers in possession of such cards would be able to make phone calls from anywhere.

‘Ahmedabad is the 11th city in the country where the IN facility has been commissioned," Verma said.

Verma said subscribers could buy any number of Virtual Calling Cards (VCC) from the DoT’s Customer Service Centres. "Once in possession of such cards, subscribers can make calls from anywhere including PCO booths and money against each call made by them is debited from their VCC," Verma explained. He said a subscriber who want to use the facility would have to first dial 160233, then the secret code which is mentioned at the back of his or her VCC. Once that is done, the calling party can dial the number she or he wants to call.

Verma said customers wanting to avail FPH could get it by submitting registration fee at DoT’s Value Added Service office located at Premier Shopping Centre near Mirzapur.
