Forum 2000, targets small, medium industries
IBM
India Ltd. organised the IBM Solutions Forum 2000 targeted at the small
and medium industries in Ahmedabad on Tuesday. The forum included discussions
on a wide range of IBM technologies. IBM Solutions forum discussed IBM’s
capability in addressing the needs of the Indian small and medium business
segment with various industry specific solutions and e-business solutions.
Senior executives and experts
from IBM India participated in the forum. The presentations were on Industry
specific solutions like ERP solutions, Supply chain management and CRM,
e-business solutions, ISP and Engineering technology solutions. These
solutions are packaged to meet the needs of Indian customers with IBM’s
popular technology products and services. Mr Ashish Kumar, the country
manager small and medium business, IBM India Ltd. said, "As Indian industries
become globally competitive their needs and business issues are becoming
similar to that of companies across the globe. IBM’s technologies and
solutions for Indian small and medium businesses provide a competitive
edge in this era of globalisation." The Forum focussed on how companies
can use the Internet and intranets to improve their marketing, customer
service and safes. The thrust was on imparting the knowledge that e-business
is not just Internet-based transactions but refers to all business activity
from sales to operations to Inventory using the Internet, the Intranet
and local networks.
