Meet on IT-enabled
services tomorrow
With
the IT industry experiencing a. major slowdown, one area that has held
ground is that of IT-enabled services. And prime among this is the call
centres.
Gujarat, with its manpower
and skilled labour, rules the roost in this area. While nationally, India
witnessed an interesting trend in terms of large global corporations outsourcing
mission-critical projects to India.
With special advantages like
that of availability of quality personnel to handle high volume projects,
a low cost structure, high quality processes and positive Government patronage
in the form of tax concessions and provisions of Software ‘Technology
parks, the scenario for this industry only looks bright. To look into
the prospects and opportunities offered by such a scenario, a national
seminar on ‘Opportunities in IT-enabled services (ITES)Call Centre"
is being organised on November 24 at the Ahmedabad Management Association.
Among the objectives of the
seminar is to enlighten participants about opportunities in the field
of CRM. The seminar will also discuss opportunities and environment prevailing
in India and how Gujarat could chip in with fresh initiatives and exploit
its low-cost status.
Besides, the seminar will
have practitioners and solution. providers who will explain the key characteristics
of call centres such as market potential, the infrastructure and system
required, availability of human resources and the target clientele. It
will also discuss the investment opportunities in terms of venture capital
or otherwise. These will be discussed with the help of case studies along
with the experience of call service provider, capital needs, investment
requisites and the advantages of India being a preferred destination.
The participants will include members of the Gujarat Electronics and Software
Industries Association, Nasscom, CII, IACC, Nirma institute, British Trade
Council and others.
