Modi meets IT heads in tour
Chief minister Narendra Modi held one to one meetings with corporate heads
of eight top IT companies in Bangalore on Friday.
The chief minister highlighted
the advantages of investing in IT infrastructure, education technology,
customer care services, business call centres, e-literacy, low cost infrastructure
for communication and manpower in IT enabled services.
United Telecom expressed
its desire to set up a Rs 100 crores pilot project for e services and
business process outsourcing whereas Intel India president Ketan Sampat
was keen on IT education, e-literacy and knowledge based industries. The
Biocon India chairman Dr Kiran Majmudar offered expertise in wide range
of biotechnology projects in collaboration with NRGs.
