Jurassic Park in Balasinor

Gujarat will soon have a fossil park at Balasinor, about 70 km from here, where dinosaur fossils were recovered.

The park, to be built with international expertise, is part of the new tourism policy under which 188 projects worth Rs 762 crores have been implemented or are in the pipeline, said Gujarat deputy minister for tourism Khoda Patel.

This investment-friendly policy is being further reviewed and a new policy is being prepared for 2000 and beyond.

Beach tourism, pilgrim tourism and contemporary attractions such as amusement parks and water parks are some of the priorities of Gujarat in the coming years.

To promote coastal tourism, Rs 60 crores will be pumped in for developing Ahmedpur Mandvi, Kutch Mandvi and Shivrajpur, he said.
