Experts'
meet to chalk out plan for anthrax war
Even a anthrax scare is spreading
the world over, an expert group wil meet at the B. J Medical College on
Saturday to make a plan for tackling the probable biological war. Health
minister Ashok Bhat said here on Friday that expert from the field of
science and animal husbandry will join the workshop. He said that the
group would demand the setting up of laboratory, training facilities and
medicines in the six medical col leges of the state.
Mr. Bhatt said that as part
of the Centre & directive to be alert on developments about anthrax,
the health department has geared up to tackle the problem. He said that
facilities have been created in th medical colleges to detect signs o
Anthrax.
He added that chief minister
Narendra Modi has asked the health department to ensure that people are
not scared by what has been happening in the western countries. The officials
have said that people need not fear from anthrax since not a single anthrax
positive case has been detected in Gujarat for the past two years.
