Modi
visits Kutch, boosts morale of Armed forces
Chief minister Narendra Modi
said the role of the Army is not limited to guarding the frontiers of
the country but to trample the rising menace of terrorism in the country
and troops have to be dedicated to fight terrorism in the country during
these times.
Mr. Modi on Friday inspected
the border area and personally met soldiers guarding the 25-km border
with Pakistan at the Mon Bet outpost giving them the moral support. In
his address to the troops, Mr. Modi said the morale of the troops is high
and their vigilance in guarding the border is inspirational and imbibes
patriotism in the people. The war has not remained confined to the borders
and the responsibility of the Army has increased, as they have to face
the war against the terrorists.
Mr. Modi sought the necessary
security information from border security wing commnander Mr. Ramchandran
and also inspected certain posts. Mr. Modi also visited Kuren village
where the Vedic Mission Trust has constructed 200 houses to rehabilitate
the earthquake-affected people. He also visited the Kandhi village and
inspected relief work being undertaken there.
He said the rehabilitation
of the people that looked very difficult after the devastating earthquake
has been possible due to the spirit and resolve of the people of Kutch.
Mr. Modi held a meeting with the trade, commerce and industry mandals
and discussed their problems, which was attended by top officials of the
Gujarat State Disaster Management Authority.
