City Jawan becomes martyr

An Army jawan hailing from the city lost his life at Gurukulla, Baramulla district in Jammu and Kashmir.

Twenty-nine-year old Deepak Jasubhai Rathod, of Mangal Prabhat Society, near Milan Cinema, Saraspur, was hit with a grenade on Wednesday which injured him seriously. Later, he succumbed to his injuries.

His body was brought to Ahmedabad on Friday and will be cremated on Saturday. Minister of state for home Gordhan Jhadafiya and BJP leader Maya Kodnani were present along with a big crowd to receive the body of the martyr. He is survived by his parents and wife.
