| Court orders GEB to prove power theft
In a case of power theft, the Gujarat high
court has directed the Gujarat Electric Board to demonstrate an electric
meter and explain as to how the power theft is committed.
The order was issued by Justice
Kundansingh after a petition being filed by advocate Hashim Qureshi on
behalf of the owner of Jyoti oil-mill in Dhoraji taluka.
The petition stated that
though the electric meter of the company was tested and reported to be
in a faultless condition, yet the petitioner was served a supplementary
bill under the allegation of power theft by the GEB.
