Godhra case: 1 more arrested
The anti dacoity squad
of Godhra police on Monday arrested one Shaukat Yusuf Patariya alias Bhana
from Kevadia Colony of Narmada district.
Patariya
was reportedly involved in the Godhra carnage that took place on February
27 last year in which 58 passengers travelling in Sabarmati Express were
charred to death at Godhra junction.
The
special investigation team probing the Godhra carnage however has not
asked for transfer warrants of the accused.
Meanwhile,
SIT has obtained transfer warrants of two more accused in the case from
Godhra town police.
They
are Habib alias Badshah Binyamin Behra and Rafiq New Muslim.
Godhra
town police earlier on May 26 had arrested four persons with an illegal
consignment of electricity wires and Badshah Binyamin Behra and Rafiq
New Muslim were among them.
The
arrest of Badshah is considered important as he is the brother of Zabir
Binyamin Behra who gave confessional statement before the court.
The
statement had changed the entire face of the investigation as Zabir confessed
that Maulana Hussain Umarji was one of the key conspirators and that Umarji
was the one who had formed the core group.
