In a case of child abduction, about five persons have been booked by the Anand local crime branch on Friday. Reports confirm that a Baroda-based childless couple had hired three persons to abduct a child in return for Rs 1,000.

According to the Anand police, a case of child abduction was reported at the Bhadran police station on Tuesday. One Khoda Thakor had lodged a police complaint about his six-month infant Jignesh Thakor’s abduction on Monday night.

As per reports, Khoda Thakor, a resident of Lalpura village - about 15 km from Anand, was sleeping along with his family outside his home, when around 12.30 pm, three persons Rava Sana Thakor, Manu Thakor and Rava Bhikha Thakor abducted Jignesh.

During the investigation, the local crime branch following a tip off received news about the involvement of a Baroda based childless couple in the incident. The Anand LCB nabbed Rajesh Masaroo and Rekha Masaroo who reportedly bought the child at Rs 1,000. The Anand LCB official told The Asian Age, "The couple had hired three people to abduct the child and the deal was made for Rs 1,000. The abductors are in police custody.
