Court to order on lawyer bail plea
The Baroda court will pass order on Friday regarding the bail application
of the city based advocate Gopal Ramani. He is an arrested on charges
of abducting his client.
The advocate had applied
for bail at a Baroda court on October 20 after his arrest on October 18.
The court had ruled out on Monday the application moved by the Baroda
police for 15 days remand of Ramani.
Mr Ramani had allegedly abducted
his client Kanaiyalal Arya who had borrowed more than Rs 20 lakh from
him and had failed to pay some installments. Mr Arya was running four
shops selling garments which were taken over by Mr Ramani by forgery,
alleged Mr Ved Prakash, the complainant and brother of Mr Arya. Mr Arya
was reportedly borrowing from Mr Ramani frequently at an interest rate
of about 5 per cent per month and was unable to pay off heavy burden of
debt. On May 20, the dispute between Mr Ramani and Mr Arya turned serious
and Mr Arya has been missing since then, Mr Ved Prakash stated in his
complaint. Mr Ved Prakash had also submitted an application in this connection
to the Baroda commissioner of police Sudhir Sinha last month. The City
police station officials arrested Mr Ramani late on Saturday night charging
IPC Sections 364, 395, 397 and Money Lender’s Act 364.
